  9. ASHLI says:

The exam is in June. And I have 5 months from Jan to May

for physical chemistry and physics, learn all the formulas and practice solved examples given in any reference book. Dont practice hi-fi questions or unsolved problems. after solving the problem your self always look for its correct solution.Make sure that u practice questions from every topic and question of every type. By doing so, u will remember correct way of solving every question and u won’t come across any problem in ur exam which you had not seen before.
for inorganic, read any reference book for understanding the basic periodic and group trends becoz they cannot be mugged up…u have to understand them first. then, solve MCQs..and a better way to remember physics formula is to practice questions.

HANDBOOK OF BIOLOGY BY RAHUL CHAWLA
This book can be considered as a last ditch stand for all the students preparing for PMTs, who cannot afford to give themselves a second chance and another year of tiring studies. This 128 page-hand cum pocket book gives you an overview of the complete biology syllabus so it is easier for the students to revise at the last moment. The book would be extremely helpful in last minute revision.

Sir, most of the topics in the prescribed syllabus for NEET I see are directly from NCERT.So is it enough to study the basic concepts from NCERT and have a deep & detailed study of those topics from other reference books like Pradeep along with solving past years papers regularly?I thought that would solve the dual purpose of good board result along with preparation for CET.Sir I am a 12th CBSE board student, had secured 9.8/10 in 2010 & not much good ofcourse only 85% in class 11th.actually my 11th chem. portion was weak point of mine due to non-availability of teacher.I have’t joined any coaching yet but I AM DETERMINED TO CRACK CET IN THE CURRENT YEAR AT ANY COST……..(with 100% hard work,200% devotion & confidence).Just need a proper direction to work at..kindly guide me & tell as to what kind of strategy should I follow to have strong approach towards every single concept & when & how to excel in 11th chem. & physics too…please help.

    • Rahul Chawla says:

      1. get the books.
Biology – any textbook ( Trueman) /notes of your coaching institute + NCERT + both of my books (Handbook and Biology @ your fingertips) + Dinesh objective
Till now I have written just two books and I am also working on the text book and an objective book for biology. But this would take time. So, you should buy above books. I also referred to the same books.

Note : this is the ideal combination, which I have prescribed, so if at any stage you are running out of time, you can only rely on my books along with NCERT
Physics – comprehensive / teacher’s notes + A.K Aggarwal objective book or any other book which your teacher has specified.
Chemistry – Pradeep textbook and P.Bahadur for objective + NCERT

P.S. – If you have studied any other book instead of what I have mentioned then go ahead with it, no need to waste time studying from a new book.

      2. Start studying your 11th syllabus and finish it in 4-5 months. you will havve to study at least 8 hours / day.and choose that school where attendance is not a compulsion. It would save time wastage in school activities.

      3. Start 12th syllabus in June and finish it by October..in November revise your 11th syllabus again. it would take a month at least. From December next year, start 12th.

      4. Keep solving past papers in the mean time..

      5. Read NCERTs and my books in Biology.

      6. Read my article http://pmtgurumantra.wordpress.com/2011/07/18/aipmt2012strategy/

tell all your friends regarding my book and do buy it.

now you can buy handbook of biology online at flipkart.com. click here to buy the book
you can order the book online and pay at the time of delivery.

    • Rahul Chawla says:

NEET..now proposed by MCI would replace the existing systems of separate state and national level medical entrances but whether it would start from this year..has not been confirmed..min age is 17 years; no date and notifications information released till now

  38. deepti singh says:

d syllabus dsnt includes human physiology…. there r 7 very imp chapters in ncert biology..shud i stp preparing human physiology for 2012 exams….. will der be a common entrnce??

    • Rahul Chawla says:

study from NCERT and my book…no need to follow the syllabus right now…and no need to worry. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME THINKING about NEET..It would ruin your studies..whatever MCI will do, leave it to them, you stick to your studies. There are minute changes which are significant only for those who has read everything and for those who have not completed their syllabus, they must not waste any time more thinking about the issue. Just study and there won’t be drastic changes or there might be no changes at all or even if they plan to change the syllabus and the pattern of exam then you are not alone, every one wil suffer.ok, if you waste today’s time in thinking about the syllabus, percentile or no negative marking… checking out on internet every single day about the NEET exam, you won’t be able to concentrate on your studies. So, it is a request to everyone ,please don’t waste this time..don’t wait for the syllabus or exam pattern to be disclosed.Continue your studies, the way you used to.
and in any case, the syllabus is changed, read that part from my book, I assure you none of the question will come outside what I have given in both of my books and NCERT.

  39. neelam says:

sir my name is neelam i m preparing for aipmt for two year i study about 10 hr in a day but till i dont thing that i m perfect please sajes me right order of study

    • Rahul Chawla says:

Counting the number of hours is immaterial. What counts is your hard work, dedication and consistency which are essential for selection. Instead of counting the number of hours you can count the number of pages that you study everyday .You should try to get the maximum output from your input. Don’t day dream; focus your senses on what you are studying.
and To assess what you have studied till now Take previous years’ questions and solve a particular paper whose cut-off you know. Keep seated for the entire time limit and simulate the entire environment of the examination hall. After completing, match your answers and calculate your total percentage. Match it with the cut-off. see your result and analyse..whether it’s acc to your expectations or below…if it’s below then it’s time to think and make a plan for bettter outcome with lesser input..

Please refer to my post STRATEGY OF AIPMT 2012 FOR DROPPERS..Also read the doubts of other students, it would help you in clearing your own doubts.

    • Rahul Chawla says:

Yes you can but CBSE board is better because of the similarity of the syllabus and textbook NCERT; otherwise it’s not a major difference.. do read NCERTs, solve papers and follow my books in biology along with your notes.

  42. sweety says:

sir may i know hw could i able to crack pmt exam.in which manner should i read so that i can get good marks in 12th board as well as in entrance exams also.plzzzzzzzzzzz help me nd give me some suggestions.

    • Rahul Chawla says:

      1. Be ready for the 200% devotion.
      2. start with NCERT biology.Cram it completely..better to understand it first.
      3. For chemistry, read NCERT plus Pradeep…now here you will have to be selective.read only the important things.
      4. For Physics just read Comprehensive..don’t go in details..read only the basics…cram all the formulas and see and in fact learn all the solved examples. I mean memorize and understand how to attempt a question of a particular type. learning formulas are very important.
      5. Solve all BHU, AIPMT, AIIMS and your state pmt past papers. while solving, you will come to know which kind of questions are asked, how to approach the question and what are the important topics. read the solutions given at the back.also simultaneously learn the answrs in case of biology.
      5. Get my book Biology@ Your fingertips..you will not need to study anything else except the NCERTs..even all the important points of the NCERT are covered in my book plus a lot of mnemonics and flowcharts. You can even leave solved papers if you don’t have time because I have covered most of the questions ever asked in the text form. The book would be available in december.
right now handbook of biology is available. you can get my book handbook of biology at flipkart.com.
      6. Start with class 11th syllabus and finish it in 2 months. from january start studying for your boards. It would automatically prepare yourself for the entrances. after the exams, start revising what all you have read.
please read my article STRATEGY OF AIPMT 2012 FOR DROPPERS

      7. keep following the website and also read the doubts of other students as well.
      8. lay special emphasis on NCERT, past papers and my books in biology; and avoid reading multiple books for the same subjects.
      9. and also tell your friends about my book and the website.
you can order my book handbook of biology at flipkart.com…pay at the time of delivery..here is the link..http://www.flipkart.com/books/8175156422/search-books-rahul-chawla/1?pid=1v23fb0scd&ref=b22ccd0c-aaac-4ddc-b48d-62ddb20cabc6&_l=CJHVEqJO3veuHytbACc9dw%E2%80%93&_r=TxuNa8SHIYDMtQ11knQotQ%E2%80%93

      • Ravikant says:

got your book- great & compact but Sir should i rely totally on it along with the NCERT? thanks

      • Rahul Chawla says:

NCERT + ( + reference textbook) + Biology@ your fingertips + Handbook + past paper = ideal combination; HANDBOOK OF BIOLOGY IS FOR LAST MONTHS REVISION but you can use it now coz it has mnemonics and all the very important points; but you need Fingertips also along with it; study from handbook and trueman/ coaching notes till fingertips comes in the market.

  46. Dr.chandan singh says:

hi Dr. rahul this is DR.chandan kuamar singh from calcutta and i m running my 3 centres in kolkata sucesfuly .the bad things i felt about the unwanted superiority of CBSE rules playing with the syllabus of other state . a common test for become doctor shud hv physiology background becoz we all knows that in hospital we are going to treat our patient who are human being …not the plant.most of the state boards have human physiology in plus 2 standard covering more the 50% of entire sylb. even ICSE and WEST BENGAL too..its seems like infection of politics in education world ..

  47. Ravikant says:

I am a class 12th student and have taken maths too along with Bio. Since all the subjects are heavy should i concentrate on the boards this year and appear for the entrances in 2013 with a full year to prepare? Despite the best preps there is no guarantee of making it, hence do you think it would be okay not to spoil the board %. At Aakash my total score hovers around 37-40% with Zoo and Bot at 65-70% but i generally spoil Chem. just toooooo much. Please guide. Thanks sir.

    • Rahul Chawla says:

better to conc. on your boards and make a target to score more than 70%..solve last year board papers and lay more emphasis on NCERTs. doing so will also prepare you for the entrance examinations. So, focus on your boards right now.

      • Ravikant says:

Thank you very much for your very prompt response…well i aim to score more than 93-94% in the XII and it is for this reason that i don’t wish to dilute my studies though i do realize that the board results won’t matter in the least if i make it to a good medical institute….and i also know that the NCERT Book alone is just not sufficient for success in the entrances- the Entrance syllabus is vast and unpredictable. ‘am looking forward to go through your books though.

      • Ravikant says:

and btw i’m not too bad a student at school- got a 9.8/10 score in the 10th boards and a 90% in class 9th – the 11th and 12th however have not been particularly good- school too has dipped- hadn’t studied for school exams because of Aakash but coudn’t do too well there also max 120/200 has been my score in Zoo & Bot- never scored more than that. am planning to stop Aakash at the moment. And also plz let me know if ABC Biology is as good as Truman? do you know of somebody in delhi who could teach me a few chapters of chemistry- there are some with which i need help. A good tutor or maybe a VMMC student who takes tutions in spare time? Thanks very much for helping and counselling students like me. Could i meet you sometime- i stay close to VMMC.

      • Ravikant says:

‘have just placed an order for your book at flipkart- it should reach me in 4-5 days they say!

        Prescribed textbook combination

P.S. – If you have studied any other book instead of what I have mentioned then go ahead with it, no need to waste time studying from a new book.

are ncert books sufficient to crack pmt 2012?

No, NCERT of Biology is very essential to study but you cannot rely on this book alone for medical entrance examinations coz the syllabus covered in NCERT is very limited so you have to study other books also.
