NEET put off by two years

Much to the relief of students aspiring to become doctors, the central government has agreed, in principle, to postpone the introduction of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions to medical colleges by two years.
The official orders to this effect are likely to be issued in a day or two.
According to official sources, Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad confirmed the decision to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy over phone on Friday.
The chief minister had urged the Centre to exempt Andhra Pradesh from NEET for at least two years in view of the various difficulties the students of the state would have to face if NEET were to take effect from the next academic year.
“The Union minister agreed in principle to postpone the examination by two years. However, it is unclear whether only students from Andhra Pradesh are exempted or the government has decided to postpone the examination all over the country. A clear picture will emerge in a couple of days after official orders are released,” said sources in the chief minister’s office.
The NEET was proposed as a single national-level entrance examination for admission to all medical colleges in the country.
The central government’s announcement over implementation of NEET from next academic year sent shock waves causing much anxiety to students, parents and academicians as the state syllabus is different from the central syllabus.
If implemented from next academic year, students from the state are likely to be affected severely as the NEET examination will be based on the central syllabus.
Considering the concerns of students, the chief minister took up the issue with the Union health minister seeking time for revamping the state syllabus so that students from Andhra Pradesh can compete with CBSE students on an equal footing.
He requested the union government to postpone the examination to make required amendments to certain educational Acts and also revise the curricula of school and Intermediate education on a par with the central syllabus.

Sir, Please sugest me what should i do in this small inerval of time so that i can revise my class11 as well as class12 with theory and objective and can secure good marks in pre-boards as well as boards and can crack any medicat entrance test.??

    • Rahul Chawla says:

Sure..u can..but u will have to study very hard.
      1. Start revising complete 11th course from now on and finish it in a month. After that start studying for your boards.
      2. For 11th revision, Read my books in Biology + NCERTs..no need to do more for Biology. For boards prep too read NCERT and u can also read Biology @ your fingertips ( would be released in January) along with it as it has many mnemonics and figures so it would be easy to study in less time plus it would help u later in entrance preparation.
      3. For physics and chem..just read theory from NCERT / Pradeep text book. Learn the imp. formulae and see all the solved numericals. practice one Q of each type..
      4. Solve AIPMT and BHU past papers in between and regularly check your assessment..
Take previous years’ questions and solve a particular paper whose cut-off you know. Keep seated for the entire time limit and simulate the entire environment of the examination hall. (for time management skills, refer to my post Strategy for MP PMT 2011) After completing, match your answers and calculate your total percentage. Match it with the cut-off. Analyse your result and performance.
      5. Get my book Handbook of Biology..This book can be considered as a last ditch stand for all the students preparing for PMTs, who cannot afford to give themselves a second chance and another year of tiring studies. here is the link…

      6. Read everything quickly. U will have to maintain your speed. If u don’t understand some thing..cram it..make sure that you are thorough with both my books and NCERTs..
7.Also read reply to other’s queries..it would help in solving ur own doubts.

    • Rahul Chawla says:

Coaching teachers are no wizards. They cannot wave a moron into a genius! They are only there to teach you, to help clear your concepts; and these big coaching institutes have began exploiting students to make money and many times their study material and test series are also irrelevant. If a student is selected, it is because of his own hard work, not because of the coaching institute. So, join a local coaching institute where you can clear your concepts. also keep following this website.

Also refer to my post STRATEGY OF AIPMT 2012 FOR DROPPERS
      follow following tips:
      1. Get a solved year paper book and solve a paper and match it with cut-off..analyse the results and see where u stand.
      2. By more papers and see the topics you are strong and the topics you are week in..specially in physics and chem…identify ur mistakes.
      3. Study accordingly..first start the topics u r week in..study it from ur notes or whatever..but in biology DON”T DEPEND ON ALLEN NOTES…they are time waste..read NCERT + My books + Dinesh objective( if u have time) + trueman ( just for inderstanding.
      also see my post http://pmtgurumantra.wordpress.com/2011/07/18/aipmt2012strategy/
      4. Solve more and more papers..or just cram each and every question ever asked..and for Biology, just rely on both my books Handbook and Biology@ your fingertips and NCERT
      5. For physics learn all the formulas and see all the solved examples of any good physics text book and in and chemistry, name reactions compounds etc..all the theoretical topics should be on ur tips.

Refer to my book handbook of biology .It helps you in last minute revision and contains all the important and frequently asked points with 100% strike rate in any medical entrance exam. the book is available in the market. • Rahul Chawla says:

        for physics:
        1. Dont solve numericals from hi-fi books.
        2. You need a good coaching for physics where you can get some personal attention
        3. You can try Comprehensive physics..it is a bulky book but will clear your concepts..First try its solved numericals your self and then follow the solution if you are unable to make it. No need to burden your self by solving its unsolved Questions. For practicing Objective Questions, get a good MCQ book.
        4. You must try to remember the formula and the correct way of solving question.
        5. Although concepts building is necessary, learning the formulas and applying them correctly should be the priority as usually conceptual Questions are not asked in state PMTs and AIPMT. Most of the question here are simple formula based…but it is a fact that many of the students who solve hi-fi books make mistakes while solving these questions. So, beware of errorrs in solving or calculation.
