The Supreme Court on Thursday quashed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission in medical colleges.
The NEET is a single entrance-cum-eligibility-test for admission in all medical colleges in India.
By a two to one majority, the apex court held that the Medical Council of India had no powers to conduct single entrance examination and force it on government and private medical colleges.
The admission already made through NEET this year will not be disturbed, said Chief Justice Altamash Kabir and justice Vikramjit Sen, who formed majority in a 3-judge bench.
Justice A R Dave dissented, saying the NEET was valid and it was good for the students and society at large.
The court’s decision came on 115 petitions challenging the MCI notification on NEET for admission to MBBS and post-graduate medical courses conducted in colleges across the country.
On May 13, the court had lifted the bar on declaration of results of examinations that had already been conducted and said the admission process could go ahead.
It had modified its December 13, 2012 order by which it had stated that MCI, Dental Council of India, as well as the states, universities and other institutions, will be entitled to conduct their respective examinations for MBBS, BDS and post-graduate courses but shall not declare their results until further orders.
The bench had earlier directed transfer of all petitions pending in various courts to it by January 15, this year.

if you are mentally strong, dedicated towards your goal n targets, keep fighting until you win. medical entrance xams are like all or none phenomenon.
you just need your dedication and parents who support n believe in you.

The biggest problem is that you guys ask the same question thousand of times. Books to reffer is already posted and even i have replied many ppl the same thing.
Look, dont take it rude but we are not getting paid for this and we are coaching going students so we hardly sit idle. And we are here to help you guys. But that does not mean that you guys will behave like this. Every one asks about books. We dont expect such a behavior from you all.
And schedule is not a big deal. At this age you must know to male a schedule atleast. Does not matter whether the schedule is for a dropper or coaching going or not going student. What is neccessary, that you study every day and that shud be atleast 4 hrs if you go to school/coaching also. And if sit whole day at home then study for 8 hrs atleast. What to study in these hrs will be decided by you.

i m a class 12 th students i have a deep interest in surgical field i can watch surgical videos for a long time without getting bored but i have heard that medical students face severe hardship after passing mbbs ,i mean about job pressure i have heard pg students are made to work 18 hrs a day and doctors are treated as slaves, even getting all the degree they hardly manage to make thier livelihood , its good to serve people but not like this , are this things true ???mentors plzz help should i drop my idea of becoming doctors and i focus on engineering feild ???
Who said this crap? Doctors are most important. PG students have to work 8 hrs only. And by the way it feels a matter of proud when ppl applause you by saying you saved his life. No other proffession is this much close to life and death. Though there is some hardship i.e. no specific lunch time, specific sleep hours. But ppl are passionate to become doctor.
my 12 th percentage are 57% and my pcb group is 147 and i m from maharashtra and my cast is reserved then i can eligible for pmt for maharashtra state 2014

sir if aipmt comes back will it be held in 1st sunday of april….but now 1st sunday of april iit mains is held and both the exams always had 1 month gap………….so will iit mains and advanced will aiso be cancelled, if not so then pmt will be held in may but thats the time of mains……so will aipmt pre and mains be combined
It seems your syllabus is complete by now. Your job is to study. And please dont take it rude but rather wasting your time on all this crap, kindly focus on your studies dear. That will help you. Leave it on the department to decide.

No..as of now,12th boards% is just a criteria of eligibility(max 60% for aiims)..there wud b no special emphasis on this %age in future..i guess.For Chem P.Bahadur, and for physics arihant, are good. Even if u r already havng any other book…just stick to that only…don’t ramble for others….clear theory n solve the mcq’s now n then…ultimately u’d havng enough to crack pmt.

hello sir /madam i have passed 12th in 2011 ,given aipmt 2 times and neet 1 times but coouldnot succed .am i eligible for giving exam next year(my age is 21).i am distressed cause i have already given 2 drops.this year i also enrolled in a engineering diploma course i have gone to attend classes for 3 days but i got frusted and mad at very first day.i dont have patience to read again those preliminary science and calculas.i think to drop one more year .is it wise ???,i have confidence of clearing cause this year i missed my state pmt by 1 pecentage this year .help me
Firstly try to be complacent in ur daily routine.Be cheerful and avoid any pessimism with any-one.
Medcl entrnc is not the end of life.U may have some other talent in which u cud be the best buddy.
If medcl is the sole dream of ur own..then go for it widout any doubt or fear.Join a coachng instt..study regularly for next 9-10 months.Promise urself everyday that u r gonna make it…and hopefully u’d make it.

There are several things which had earlier been struck off from the syllabus of biology for NEET,such as the anatomy of frog and earthworm and several other things too .So will they be coming in any of the future conducted exams???
they’ll probably not be included in aipmt, but they may be asked in other entrance exams!
