MBBS course for the academic year 2011-12

Applications are invited on prescribed form for admission to MBBS course starting from 1st July 2011.

The candidates shall be selected as per their merit in the Entrance Examination to be held on 17th April 2011 at Nagpur, Delhi, Hyderabad Mumbai, Varanasi and Guwahati.

Those students who are going to appear in 10+2 higher secondary board examination in March/April 2011 are also eligible to appear in the competitive entrance examination.

In the entrance examination the paper of Physics, Chemistry and Biology will have multiple choice questions, while that on Gandhian thought will be of long and short answer type.

The Prospectus and Application Form with syllabus, question papers of Gandhian thought for the last 5 years, with model question papers of Physics Chemistry and Biology can be had from the office of the Dean by remitting a sum of Rs.1100/- (Rs.1000 + Rs.100 as postal charges) only by Money order in favour of the Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, District Wardha – 442102 or by paying Rs.1000/- in cash at the college counter. Candidates must write their full address in capital letters and phone number on the “space for Communication and the space for sender’s address on the money order form.

The Prospectus & Form will be available from 1st December 2010.

The last date of receipt of filled up application with Entrance Examination fee of Rs.1500/- is 28th February 2011 and with an additional late fee of Rs.100/- is 15th March, 2011.

ELIGIBILITY:

1.The candidate must attain 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

2.The Candidate must have passed 12th standard examination under 10+2 system of Maharashtra State Higher Secondary Education Board or equivalent examination of any recognised Board or any Indian University with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually in each subject in one and the same attempt.

3.The candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks (40% in the case of SC/ ST/ VJ/ NT/ OBC) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The admission is subject to any direction given by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble High Court of Bombay Bench, Nagpur, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and the Medical Council of India.

 

 

NOTE

1. The institute has sought the permission for increasing the capacity of admissions to 1st year MBBS from 65 to 100. In case the permission is received by the time the admission procedure is completed, it will be our endeavor to admit 100 students.

2. The fee structure in MGIMS is as applicable to the Govt. Medical Colleges in Maharashtra State. The Institute does not have any paid seats.

      in physics and chem learn all the formulas; special emphasis on inorganic compounds name, alloys, organic conversions etc. in chem and thermo, waves, fluid, modern in physics.. do solve past papers for practice.

    Sir, I just bought your Biology at your fingertips. Do I also need to buy Handbook of Biology? Or is it enough? Also, tell me which books i should refer for MGIMS Wardhs’s Gandhi section?

      Handbook of Biology is better for last minute revision and also presents the most imp. point..It is a refined version of fingertips..So, there is no loss if u don’t buy it and study from fingertips alone..but better for u to revise if u get it..also tell your frns about my book.

    sir ,tell me d level of questions being asked in MGIMS bio,phy &chem. I wud like to crack this entrance & i need previous papers of dis entrance exam can u enquire som others u know plz………….i tried a lot but in vain.As u said dat ” handbook of biology “by u if read is enough for bio in MGIMS den u might have known about d type of questions asked previously isn’t it ? i have ordered for both ur books .plz tell me how should i prepare well before exam dat is wen 1 month left especially for mgims .tell me on which topics should i strengthen myself more for biology MGIMS .have u appeared for MGIMS ,if so tell me how to manage time & give me some tips plz…………………………………………

    sir, i also have a doubt syllabus for MGIMS is only of 12th standard is it true? if so then tell me how should i prepare on which chapters should i give more priority & how should i prepare for questions on mahatmagandhij. i didin’t find any previous papers of MGIMS & where can i get them?sir, plz…………..guide me i mean give me a plan especially for MGIMS as there z only less time .waiting 4 ur reply.hope u wud guide me .

      no idea about MGIMs papers. read booklet provided on gandhiji at the last moment only..not right now.and the syllabus includes both 11th n 12th as far as i know. just get both my books in biology,no need to read any thing extra in bio for MGIMS. also tell ur frns about it.

    sir,hello this is sarraju swetha .i dream to crack mgims wardha this year. i want 2 know the level of questions being asked & are there any publishers especially for MGIMS entrance? which books should i refer? at this crucial time only 1 month left how shud i conc both on board IPE EXAMS simultaneously competitive exams. plz suggest me & help me for MGIMS .

    m very weak in phy plus our course also havnt been cpmplted at d insti were m gng n now its nly 1 month left . what can i do to maximise my efforts in dis minimum time as now its hard to conc for me n whether shal i join d crash course offered by d insti wil dt hv any impact at d prformnce or wil it increase d chances of being selcted is yr college vmmc govt one n wtas is d fee structure

      1. Learn all the formulas in physics, physical chemistry and see solved numericals from any reference book.no need to solve hi-fi ones.
      2. Learn imp. name reactions in organic ( appendix of pradeep), list of alloys, imp. compounds, orders in inorganic.
      3. Solve past papers
      4. Read both my books and NCERT in Bio.
