The NTA has released the NEET Result 2024 ahead of schedule. Approximately 13.16 lakh students passed this year’s NEET UG exam. On Twitter, reports of a very high cutoff point and up to 89 pupils receiving a perfect 720 out of 720 marks have gone viral. Numerous claim that there was a document leak, fearing for their MBBS seat.
The National Eligibility and Entrance Test, or NEET 2024 Results, have been made public by the National Testing Agency, or NTA. Many students have apparently achieved a perfect score of 720 out of 720 marks in the NEET Result, which is a startling trend. It has been alleged that up to 89 individuals have passed the NEET exam with full marks, despite not having been claimed.

The merit list for the NEET UG examination 2024 will soon be made available by NTA. It is unknown how many students received full marks this year, although it is known that the cutoff was surprisingly high. An increase of 20 marks causes a student’s rank to drop to the thousands. A student with an AIR of 1993 has reported scoring 700 out of 720. The disparity widens much further. For instance, a student who scored 635 out of 720 gets an AIR of 43898. Students are becoming concerned about this growing competitiveness.
Students are becoming concerned about this trend because there aren’t enough seats in MBBS. “What’s the deal? What degree of competition are we up against if 89 students are receiving full marks? A student states, “It simply indicates that a student cannot get into AIIMS Delhi even with 719 out of 720 marks.” Concerns have been voiced by several on Twitter.

The concerns are valid. The top medical school in the nation, AIIMS New Delhi, offers 125 MBBS seats in total. Just 46 of them are under the General Category. If rumours about this are to be true, then 89 students who received flawless scores will not be admitted to the best medical college.
When students lose grades, the worries get worse. A loss in ranks of hundreds or thousands of places is the result of single-digit drops in the overall marks. As was previously noted, given the current trend, it is anticipated that counselling will cease for students who receive scores as high as 600. For example, a score of 687 results in a rank of 5412. This would free up slots in at least half of the nation’s top medical colleges. A 687 score would have equalled a 980 AIR in 2023.
The remarkably elevated threshold for the NEET 2024 results has raised apprehensions over the NEET Paper Leak. Many users on Twitter are inquiring as to whether the results were intentionally released prior to the Supreme Court’s plea being filed, given that numerous students are allegedly receiving full grades and that the General Category cutoff was raised by at least 50 points.
It is significant to note that a plea was submitted to the Supreme Court on June 1st, claiming that the NEET paper from May 5th had been leaked. The student has petitioned the SC to request a re-conduct of the paper, even though the NTA had previously dismissed the request. It was anticipated that the plea will be heard by the SC’s vacation bench.
Furthermore, NTA was supposed to make the results available by June 14. Students’ fears have been raised by the results’ unexpectedly early announcement.
Here, it’s critical to emphasise that, despite the baseless rumours of paper leaks, there is still a growing competitiveness among students. With over 24 lakh students taking the exam and just approximately 1 lakh MBBS seats available nationwide, the high cutoffs make it more difficult for a reasonably competent student to get into a medical college.
The competition for government medical college seats is getting more intense, which is making it harder to get a medical seat nationwide. Because of the exorbitant costs, a student with very good rank but limited funds, for instance, could have to forfeit their spot in a private medical institution. This can be the result of a difference of just one point.
